Privacy Policy

      Summary: SiteWatch Lite stores all data locally in your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. Your monitored pages, change history, and settings never leave your device.
    

1. Data We Collect

We collect no personal data. SiteWatch Lite operates entirely within your browser using Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local).

2. Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored locally on your device only:

Monitor configurations: URLs, CSS selectors, check intervals, and names you set for each monitor
Snapshots: Text content extracted from monitored elements for change comparison
Change history: Records of detected changes (old value, new value, timestamp)
Settings: Your preferences (Pro status, notification settings)

This data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the extension. You can also manually delete individual monitors or all data from the Settings panel.

3. Network Requests

SiteWatch Lite makes HTTP requests only to:

URLs you specify: The extension fetches pages you choose to monitor in order to detect changes. These requests are made directly from your browser with no intermediary servers.
ExtensionPay (Stripe): If you upgrade to Pro, payment processing is handled by ExtensionPay via Stripe. We do not see or store your payment details.

No cookies or authentication credentials are sent with monitoring requests. We do not proxy, log, or intercept any page content.

4. Permissions Explained

Host permissions (<all_urls>): Required to fetch any webpage you choose to monitor. Without this, the extension cannot check pages for changes.
Alarms: Used to schedule periodic checks at your chosen intervals.
Notifications: Used to send desktop alerts when a change is detected.
Storage: Used to save your monitors, history, and settings locally.
Side Panel: Provides the dashboard interface for managing your monitors.

5. Third-Party Services

The only third-party service used is ExtensionPay (powered by Stripe) for Pro subscription payments. ExtensionPay's privacy policy is available at extensionpay.com/privacy.

We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties. We have no access to your data in the first place.

7. Children's Privacy

SiteWatch Lite does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
